A York Region community where youth feel safe and supported by nurturing independence and fostering empowerment.

OUR VISION IS:

To create a network of partners that collaborate to bring about informed projects, with the common goal of reducing and preventing youth homelessness.

OUR MISSION IS:

The Youth Homelessness Prevention and Housing Stabilization Strategy (YHPHSS) is a collective impact that has been jointly funded by Jalynn H Bennett Social Change Fund, Laidlaw – Youth CI, and Minto Foundation.

This is a 10-year plan developed to implement a cross-sectoral strategy to prevent & reduce youth homelessness across York Region.

What is the Youth Strategy?

The goal of the strategy is to support the community to develop a system of care that involves service coordination and system transformation for youth at-risk of or experiencing homelessness in York Region.

This can be accomplished through the development of a community-wide strategy to effectively prevent youth homelessness in York Region and shorten the amount of time a young person experiences homelessness, should it occur.
